7 Best Places to Visit in IstanbulIstanbul is a fascinating city with hundreds of interesting and historical places to visit.

On this place I somehow try to gather Istanbul’s best places to see so that you can have a quick view on what the city has to offer.

Of course this is a small list and I’m excluding other very beautiful and important sightseeing places in Istanbul.

1-Hagia Sophia

2-Sultan Ahmed Mosque – Blue Mosque

This 15 century amazing mosque is the biggest religious building in Istanbul. You can walk around inside the mosque and explore its marvelous interiors.

3-Dolmabahce Palace

This exquisit palace was built in 1856 by sultan Abdul Mecit. This is the most extravagant building of the city, and the place where Ataturk lived for many years.

4-Topkapi Palace

5-Basilica Cistern

This gorgeous train station was built to receive the famous Orient Express coming from Europe. The nice building officially open back in 1890 is a bit forgotten since the present station main entrance is not done through old ancient and beautiful facade. Go to the left side of the station and get amazed with this piece of architecture.
