Transportation in Turkey

Although Turkey is quite a big country in territory and usually distances and travel times are big, it is fairly easy to travel in. There are an extensive and well maintained road network linking the towns, cities, and popular tourist areas. Train system is limited and slow in comparison with buses, thought. Also there are shared minibuses or taxis, called Dolmus that cover short stretches linking rural villages. There are plenty of ways to get into and out of Turkey by air, sea, rail or bus.
